Our Shar-Pei
& Pugs are your perfect family companions!
How
do we know? Because that's exactly what they've been to our family! We've shared our home and lives with Shar-Pei since 1995
and Pugs since 2005- striving to produce superb health, longevity, wonderfully unique temperaments and personalities, and
solid structure. We've bred as close to the breed standard as possible, yet while embracing all coat colors and
types. Although we produce all colors, we specialize in BLUE Shar-Pei and SILVER GRAY Pugs!!!
Looking
around, whether being used in advertising, drawing attention to the breed, or contributing to others' breeding programs,
Kwang Tung Temple Dogs have made their statement to the world!

Established
1995, Kwang Tung Temple Dogs, now located on 8.5 acres in the
unique
and colorful ranch and farmlands of West Texas, has provided the perfect family companions through health and temperament
- uniting happy families with healthy, well-adjusted Chinese Shar-Pei and Pugs, and raising and nurturing beautiful pups with
sweet dispositions that make cherished lifelong companions.
While we whole-heartedly feel that the Shar-Pei is the finest dog one can share
their lives with, we realize that not everyone can own a medium to large size dog. For those of you who can't, we offer
the outstanding personalities of our Pugs. Both our Shar-Pei and Pugs are bred and raised for personality,
temperament and soundness.
Kwang
Tung Temple Dogs remain a small kennel, which enables me to do selective breeding for color, size and temperament.
We respect and nurture the unique qualities of each breed, and encourage these qualities to
be consistent throughout the bloodlines.

By
maintaining a small number of dogs, this allows me to interact with all my dogs frequently on a daily basis.
Our main
mission is to educate the World about our dogs and to show people that they are so much more
than just "cute dogs with wrinkles" (Few people know that Pugs are somewhat wrinkled, too!)
We have created this website to try to educate people wanting to better understand
the Chinese Shar-Pei and Pug breeds who may find it hard to find helpful, friendly breeders or literature on the breeds.
We’re here to guide you in your choice and provide you with the highest quality Shar-Pei
or Pug available.
Combined, my husband, David, and I have
over 50 years of animal-husbandry experience, and I have worked as a veterinary assistant and have received my diplomas in
Veterinary Assistant, Zoonotic Diseases, and Conscious Sedation.
We
take our dedication to these breeds VERY seriously. We have built our reputation on producing healthy
puppies to become lifelong companions, and to do that we have bred only from the dogs we knew would pass on longevity and
health so that each puppy embodied just that. We've provided 24/7 LIFETIME support to new owners,
who all know that anytime they have a question or concern we are available for them.
Many hours are spent on the phone,
emailing, or chatting in person with each family who adopts one of our puppies. And not everyone we speak with will get one
of our puppies. We have turned down many because we did not feel they would make the best home for one of our precious puppies.
We have welcomed everyone who wants to learn about the breeds and will take the knowledge they gain seriously. Sharing your
life with a dog can turn into a 15 year ordeal and each owner must convey to us that they are willing to spend that time
making their pet's life the best that it can be. These dogs deserve no less.
Even
for those who have not adopted a puppy from us, we still lend an ear and give advice anytime it's needed. We have made
many friends over the years and have hopefully educated many people to how wonderful and loving these breeds can be!
Our proudest moments come from having our puppy owners call to say that their veterinarian has raved
over their new puppy and that they have the healthiest, friendliest dog they've ever met in the breed. To all our puppy
owners, thank you for your confidence in us and our dogs!
